Hamas rounded up 18 of its own people, supposedly suspected Israeli informants, and executed them by firing squad in Gaza City, an official says.
Eleven people were shot dead in a square outside the bombed out Gaza police headquarters. Another person was shot in a separate incident nearby.
Six more were grabbed as they left the city’s largest mosque after midday prayers. They were lined up behind the mosque and shot, the Daily Mail reports.
The informants were previously sentenced to death in court, according to a Hamas security official.
Hamas says they are currently “choking the necks of the collaborators.” This marks the third time Hamas has announced the murder of alleged collaborators (with no proof) since the outbreak six weeks ago.
“This is the final moment of the Zionist enemy collaborators,” said one masked man in a Hamas military uniform before an execution.
Two of the "informants" killed were women.
