Gun Owners of America director Larry Pratt appeared on VCY America’s "Crosstalk" radio program last Thursday when a caller asked if there was a conspiracy behind public officials' not releasing graphic pictures of the children killed by Adam Lanza in the Sandy Hook school massacre in 2012.
Pratt dodged the question but did claim the “gun control crowd” does “privately rejoice” when mass shootings occur, noted RightWingWatch.org (audio below).
Pratt was unable to provide any evidence of his bizarre theory.
"The gun control crowd, that I have observed now in the nearly 40 years that I've been in this saddle, are opportunistic," claimed Pratt. “My guess is that privately they rejoice when something like this happens because they immediately go to their buddies in the media and they immediately start shedding their crocodile tears, pushing for more gun control."
While attacking others for going to the "media," Pratt failed to mention that he went on "Piers Morgan" on CNN only four days after the Sandy Hook shooting to slam gun control, noted Mediaite.com.
Pratt also used the one-year anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy to push his pro-gun views and attack those who disagreed on his website.
