George Michael's partner is being questioned by detectives following suspicions the singer died from a drug overdose.
Police are looking to interview everyone who visited the late singer's Oxfordshire mansion in the week before he died on Christmas Day, the Daily Mail reported. Among those people are Fadi Fawaz, George Michael's boyfriend.
Fawaz, 40, had previously told the Daily Mirror he fell asleep in his car on Christmas Eve.
"I never saw him that night," Fawaz said. "The police know everything. That’s the most important thing."
Thames Valley Police will speak with friends, relatives and neighbors of Michael before sending a report to the Oxfordshire's coroner.
“They will talk to all sorts of people and that will be standard so they can present a file to the coroner on the circumstances leading up to his death," a source from the department explained. "It’s literally putting together the facts and figures about where someone was and the circumstances.
“This is standard. This is being done so that when the coroner calls the inquest, they will have all the facts before them.”
The department denied that the case has become a Major Crime investigation, but added that senior detectives are involved.
"In a high profile case like this you wouldn't send a Pc to deal with it," they told the Daily Mail. "It requires a senior detective."
Investigators have asked a paparazzi agency to hand over photos showing anyone who visited Michael at his home prior to his death. A post-mortem examination proved "inconclusive," while the results of the toxicology tests are still pending.
Michael's death is classified as "non-suspicious" at the moment, and detectives fear the singer might have died from a drug overdose. He was reportedly found dead in his bed by Fawaz on Christmas day.
