A player on the Houston Dynamo is apologizing for using a gay slur against a ball boy during a soccer match -- a slur that was picked up by microphones and televised.
During the MLS match against the Seattle Sounders last Friday, Colin Clark apparently didn't like the way the ball boy threw him a ball, so he called him a "f**king f****t."
Yahoo! Sports reports Clark later apologized on Twitter:
I'd like to offer a sincere apology to everyone who watched the game, especially the ball boy for whom I used awful language towards. I didn't mean to disrespect anyone and am sorry for letting my emotions get the best of me. It's not who I am and it won't happen again.
The league is investigating and "examining possible disciplinary action."
