| by Michael Allen

JCPenney has just launched a new Fathers’ Day advertisement (pictured left) featuring a gay couple with their children, which portrays “real-life dads Todd Koch and Cooper Smith with their children, Claire and Mason.”

The ad reads: "First Pals: What makes Dad so cool? He’s the swim coach, tent maker, best friend, bike fixer and hug giver — all rolled into one. Or two."

In February, when JCPenney came under fire from One Million Moms for hiring gay comedian Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson, but the store stood behind its partnership with Ellen.
