A former Cincinnati Hills Academy teacher who resigned when racy photos of her surfaced online is now in trouble with the law after she lied to investigators about her phone being stolen.
Jamie Climie, 36, claimed her cell phone had been stolen back when nude photos of herself appeared online in November. She is now charged with obstructing official business, reports WKRC.
Local police say that despite the former teacher saying her phone had been stolen, a forensic investigation -- that included viewing the phone’s cell phone records and IP address backtracking -- revealed her phone was not in fact stolen.
Police filed the charge on Jan. 16. Climie admitted to lying and turned herself in on Jan. 21. She was arraigned the same day and later released.
Police also say Climie lied about sharing the nude photos with only her husband; records show she sent images to another person. Climie appears to have taken the photos herself with a cell phone.
Climie, a married woman, mother and former fifth grade teacher, first made headlines when several nude photos of herself appeared on Dirty.com back in November while still employed with Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. The photos were published on a revenge porn site, where exes and hackers post inappropriate photos and information about a person. The images reached over 110,000 views.
The former middle school teacher was put on administrative leave before resigning last month.
Climie’s husband told local news outlets at the time that he and his wife did not know how the photos got leaked.
Climie is scheduled for a court appearance in Butler County in February.
