Florida woman Olivia Sprauer, 26, was asked to resign from her teaching position at Martin County High School after one of her bathing suit modeling photos came to the attention of the school’s principal.
While the school confirmed that Sprauer had resigned, they declined to comment further, stating that it was a personal matter – ironic, considering the school chose to pry into Sprauer’s personal affairs.
On April 29, Sprauer was called into principal Alfred Fabrizio’s office to confirm the photographs belonged to her. After confirming, she was asked to resign immediately.
Sprauer began posing for photos in February and acknowledged that the side job might put an end to her teaching position.
“I knew I didn't want to come back next year and I knew I wanted to go to grad school so I decided if I made it to the end of the year I would be happy." Sprauer said.
In defense of her photos, Sprauer said that her modeling jobs involved swimsuit glamour, not adult content.
I don't open my legs on camera,” she said, “I take swimsuit glamour style photography.”
While she still has intentions to move on, Sprauer said it was upsetting that she wouldn’t be able to finish the year with her students, who trusted her and made her happy.
"They are happy for me," Sprauer said. "They know I love them."
Sprauer said she still plans to attend her student’s graduation.
