A German police chief busted with 3.3 pounds of cocaine worth $400,000 in his office locker claims the drugs were “for educational purposes.”
The unidentified 52-year-old is the head of a narcotics department in Bavaria, southern Germany.
Investigators say they are “seriously questioning” the officer’s motive.
Department spokesman Thomas Steinkraus-Koch said some cocaine is used in education workshops, but not nearly in this amount.
They discovered the cocaine stash when the chief's wife phone the police station after a domestic dispute.
The locker was then searched.
State prosecutors are already handing charges of domestic violence on the man stemming from a February incident.
