Prince George County, Maryland police officer Donald Taylor has been criminally charged for assaulting 19-year-old African-American Ryan Dorm in February of this year (video below).
A gas station security camera captured the assault on video in which Officer Taylor hits Dorm in the face with his handgun, which fired in Dorm’s face, reports Fox 5.
"I heard a shot and then felt a flash," Dorm told Fox 5.
Officer Taylor was charged with second-degree assault, making false statements, reckless endangerment and official misconduct.
Fox 5 reports that Dorm spent four months in jail after Officer Taylor claimed he reached for his gun during struggle outside the gas station in Brentwood, Maryland.
Now, Dorm has filed a $10 million lawsuit against Officer Taylor and the police department.
Dorm's lawyer Jimmy Bell told NBC Washington: “What [the video] shows is that my client didn’t lie. They print my client is a criminal. They put his face on television saying he committed these crimes, and he didn’t.”
