A 16-year-old Texas boy called police after his father fatally shot his mother while he and his two younger siblings were in their Flower Mound home, police said.
Daniel Fink, 41, allegedly shot and killed his estranged wife, Aide Fink, 50, at 12:20 a.m. Thursday.
Last month Aide Fink filed for divorce from her husband, who is a U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent.
Just hours before her death, her husband filed a restraining order against her to restrict her from taking their assets.
The couple’s children, ages 7, 11 and 16, were unharmed in the shooting. It is unclear whether they witnessed the shooting. The children are now in the custody of child protective services.
Their mother was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities told NBC DFW that there have been prior calls to the Fink home, but no criminal charges were made.
A hearing in their divorce case was scheduled Thursday but was cancelled.
