Porn Star Jesse Spencer Sentenced to Jail for Exposing Co-Stars to Syphilis

| by Michael Allen

Porn star Jesse Spencer, whose on-screen name is “Mr. Marcus,” was sentenced to 30 days in jail for knowingly exposing two co-stars to syphilis.

According to court papers, Spencer tested positive for syphilis and got a penicillin shot on July 13, 2012.

However, Spencer reportedly tested positive for syphilis again, eight days later, but allegedly changed a photocopy of the test results to continue working in adult films.

Two of Spencer's female co-stars found the changes and called police. Neither of them contracted syphilis.

According to NBC News, Spencer pleaded no contest in Los Angeles on Tuesday to charges of knowingly exposing another person to a communicable disease.

Spencer was also sentenced to 36 months of probation and 15 days of community service.

The incident involving Spencer temporarily shut down the Los Angeles porn industry and may have led to a 2012 Los Angeles law requiring male performers to wear condoms.

One Spencer's co-stars, Heather DeAngelo, whose screen name is "Lylith LaVey," has filed a civil lawsuit against him for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

“I have to live with this. No one else does,” Spencer said in May. “I’m sorry. I’m very sorry.”

He also gave an interview to Black Tree Media in 2012 about the incident (video below).
