A Philadelphia woman was arrested for allegedly arranging a fistfight between her daughter and a classmate over an argument about boys.
Nicole Edna Holton, 36, is facing charges of disorderly conduct, endangering the welfare of children and two counts of corruption of minors after she allegedly took her daughter to a parking lot on Friday and watched her fight another girl.
Holton allegedly arranged the confrontation because she believed Upper Darby High School wasn’t doing enough about the issue, according to police.
“This is apparently an ongoing battle between the two girls about boys. This mom sends a really great message,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said sarcastically.
“She knew they were squabbling and said she was going to take care of it,” Chitwood told the Delco Times. “The woman brought her daughter to the parking lot to commit a crime. One of them could have been seriously injured. This is stupid parenting.”
The fight was broken up by police.
“Officers passing saw the two juveniles engaged in a fist fight and stopped the fight,” Chitwood added.
“If the school can’t do anything about it we will handle it ourselves,” Holton said, according to the arrest affidavit. “These girls have been having issues at the school with each other, so I let them handle it. Me and my daughter met her here and I let them handle their problem because the school did not do (expletive).”
Holton was released and is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing in district court Wednesday.
