A Pennsylvania woman has been jailed for allegedly poisoning her two sons by putting Visine eyedrops in the water they drank.

Samantha Elizabeth Unger, 23, said she put the drops in her 3-year-old son’s water and juice before serving it to him, according to ABC News. At the time, Under lived in Orrtanna.

Unger has been moved to custody in Maryland and charged with two counts of endangering children’s welfare and three counts of aggravated assault.

On two occasions, Unger’s 1-year-old son accidentally drank the water and juice with Visine when he consumed his brother’s drinks.

Unger was investigated after her 3-year-old son was hospitalized several times and then eventually taken in a helicopter to Penn State Hershey Medical Center in March.

Medical experts tested the son’s urine and found that it contained the chemical tetrahydrozoline, which is commonly used in eyedrops.

Unger said she poured more than one bottle's worth of Visine into her son’s drinks, according to police.

She is being held on $50,000 cash bail at Adams County Prison and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 24.
