A deliveryman moving medical marijuana in West Covina, California, was accosted by an unlikely threat on Monday -- armed ninjas.
According to KNX 1070's John Brook, a team of robbers dressed in full ninjutsu attire stalked and attacked their victim on his regular delivery route and absconded with a large bag of marijuana.
The ninja assailants were reportedly wielding traditional martial arts batons known as tong fa. They made contact with their target at an apartment building along the 800 block of South Sunset Avenue, according to West Covina police.
“After he made his delivery, he was walking back to his vehicle and was approached by two males in their 20s wearing ninja costumes and holding white batons,” said Sergeant Travis Tibbets. "The victim dropped the bag of marijuana and fled the scene."
Since the deliveryman was not hurt, police believe the outfits and martial arts weapons were meant primarily to intimidate and conceal the identities of the attackers. The suspects are described as in their 20s, approximately 5'8" tall and of slim build. Anyone with information about the ninja drug thieves can call West Covina police at (626) 939-8557.
