A mother from Maryland reportedly attacked a man she says sexually assaulted her 12-year-old daughter in an elevator and is now asking the public for help finding and apprehending him.
The woman, whose name has been withheld to protect her, told ABC 7 she was driving with her daughter on Friday when the young girl spotted the suspect walking on the street. The mom jumped out of the vehicle and attacked him, but he got away.
"I had to protect my daughter. I was very angry. I'm still very angry," the woman reportedly told Maryland police.
Last Wednesday morning at around 7 a.m., the girl says she was riding on the elevator in the family's apartment building when the suspect got on. When the elevator stopped, she says the man forced her to perform a sex act and then escaped, reports the Washington Post.
The mother describes the suspect as a black man aged 18-23, 5'2-5'6 tall with shoulder-length dreadlocks, the word "blessed" tattooed on his neck, and two star tattoos on his shoulders.
