A Stone Mountain, Georgia, middle school teacher is under fire after allegations that he allowed students to have sex in a classroom closet began to surface.
The incident began after one mother found a text exchange between her 14-year-old son and Champion Theme Middle School math teacher Quinton Wright, 25.
“I was in a state of disbelief when I read all these messages,” the mother told WSBTV (video interview shown below).
“Basically he’s allowing the students to have sex in a storage room in his classroom,” the mother continued.
The mother then went into detail regarding the messages she found.
“He told my son you can have it from 7:30 to like 8:30,” she read from the texts. “’Did you tell the girl what’s going to happen? That she cannot tell anybody?’ basically don’t tell anyone I’m allowing you to use my room.”
She also alleges that Wright gave her son a copy of the teachers’ schedules as well as a text message informing him that he did not have condoms.
“It’s very sickening and disheartening,” she said, “because we trust administrators and educators when we drop our kids off at school.”
The school district has since removed the teacher from his position.
The mother reportedly took her child out of the school and has been in contact with law enforcement authorities.
Her suspicions of the teacher began well before she even discovered the text messages.
“He called me when the kids are at the eighth-grade prom and asked if he could come over and take pictures with the boys before the prom, and I said no,” she told reporters.
A judge has since ordered a warrant for Wright’s arrest.
