A Florida man who was arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a 6-year-old girl in a laundry room reportedly pointed the finger of blame at his young victim.
Andres Bartolome Juan, 23, of Lake Worth, reportedly told police that he touched the little girl, but that “It’s (the girl’s) fault this happened,” reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Juan reportedly confessed to assaulting the girl twice. According to the victim, she was riding her bicycle outside of her apartment on Jan. 31 when she wandered off into the building’s laundry room. The suspect allegedly grabbed her by both arms and shook her before sexually assaulting her twice.
The little girl’s mother reportedly noticed that her bike was left outside unattended and began calling out for her daughter. She says the girl ran out from the laundry room “with a panicked look on her face” and that she found Juan trying to escape the room with his belt unbuckled, his pants open and his zipper down.
Juan once reportedly lived in the apartment building and a resident was able to identify him to police, reports NBC 6.
A DNA sample was obtained from the victim. He has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and is being held without bail.
