The boyfriend who lived in the Massachusetts home where three infant corpses were found claims his girlfriend Erika Murray hid everything from him.
Ramon Rivera, III, who lived with Murray, says he didn’t realize two of her children, ages 3 and 6 months, even existed. It turns out the children are likely his.
Murray, 31, is being held on felony charges including concealing fetal death and permitting substantial injury to a child. She has four living children ages 5 months, 3, 10 and 13. They were taken from her home and are now in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
Rivera’s friend told the Boston Globe that he was “in absolute, complete shock” to learn that the two youngest children were his and that the older children were also likely his.
“Just like everyone else, he also thinks he should have known. She had everybody fooled,” the anonymous source told The Globe.
The home is owned by Rivera’s sister Kristin Rivera.
Rivera, who reportedly spent most of his time in the basement of the home, is charged with growing marijuana there.
The children were reportedly kept upstairs in the home and they were living in squalor. Feces and dirt were caked on the children. Soiled diapers, rats and bugs populated the home, which was deemed a biohazard by the Board of Health.
Rivera has not been charged in the child neglect case.
