Jennifer Pawluck Arrested for Posting Anti-Police Art on Instagram

| by Michael Allen

Jennifer Pawluck was arrested on Wednesday morning after posting a picture of anti-police street art on her Instagram account.

“Many of my friends do not like the police,” Pawluck told HuffingtonPost.ca. “I thought it would be funny to put the picture on Instagram. I do not even know who he is, Ian Lafrenière.”

Police arrived at her Montreal, Canada home with a warrant accusing her of threatening Montreal police spokesperson Ian Lafrenière, reports Hyperallergic.com.

The picture was a drawing of Lafrenière with a gunshot wound and included the caption: “Ian Lafrenière ACAB,” an acronym for “All Coppers Are Bastards.”

Pawluck told Hyperallergic.com that she has not shuttered her Instagram page and was not asked to remove the picture of the art.

"Art is art. I don’t have a evil mind when I posted a photo like this,” said Pawluck. "It’s just ridiculous. A ridiculous story about a photo on my Instagram."

Pawluck was held at the police station for almost four hours. She has a court date on April 17.
