An Iowa woman who was locked out of her apartment has been jailed after police officers who helped her get back inside discovered pot plants and bongs.
The aptly named Jailin Turner, 19, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to affix drug tax stamp and disorderly house, the Daily Mail reports.
Iowa City police arrived at her home around 12:23 a.m. Friday after neighbors reported of a woman banging loudly on a window.
Officers ended up finding Turner on a balcony screaming and kicking a window after she lost her keys.
When they showed up, Turner threw a plastic patio table off the balcony in the direction of the cops, the Iowa City Press-Citizen reports.
Police officers tried to contact the building’s maintenance and management personnel, and then called firefighters who broke down the door, according to the complaint.
Officers found two bongs, an electronic scale and marijuana grinders in plain sight. Cops then searched her home, and allegedly found potted marijuana plants without tax stamps under grow lights.
According to FindLaw.com, Iowa is not one of the few states that allows medical marijuana, or legalized recreational marijuana, which is considered a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
Jail records show Turner was in custody on Monday, and it is unclear whether she has an attorney.
