A photo of a would-be burglar hanging upside from a school fence is going viral.
The incident occurred on March 24. A locksmith said he saw an unidentified man trying to force his way into classrooms at Miles Elementary School in Tucson, Arizona, the Daily Mail reported.
When the alleged burglar was spotted, he attempted to flee from the school campus. But as he tried jumping over an iron fence, his baggy pants hooked onto a spike, leaving him hanging upside down with his underwear exposed.
Jesse Sensibar, who witnessed the failed getaway attempt, snapped a photo of the man and posted it on Facebook, KNXV reported:
One more reason not to jump fences in baggy pants. I saw this homie hanging around at the Miles School this morning when I was rolling eastbound on Broadway Avenue. I was going to help him off the fence but by the time I got back around the block the cops were rolling up two cars deep. I don't know what his story was but it must not have been good enough, fifteen minutes later when I went back by the other direction going home he was cuffed up in the backseat. He smiled for the camera.
The photo was shared nearly 400 times in just three days. Several social media users left comments. Most of them seemed amused by the photo.
"How embarrassing he clearly doesn't have core strength to get himself out of that situation!" wrote one commenter. "And he needs to wash his underwear."
"I saw him this morning omg!!! Once he was cuffed and on the ground though, I was so curious as to why two squad cars lights blaring was necessary....now I know," wrote another.
"Tucson definitely takes a different approach with their 'Stay in School' campaign," joked another social media user.
Other commenters focused more on the man's dirty underwear.
"Anyone else think he was wearing a giant diaper at first?" wrote one commenter. "I was like 'what in the world!?'"
"Always wear clean underwear!" wrote another. "I'm reasonably sure when this guy got dressed this morning, he didn't think he was dressing for this."
Miles Elementary is a small school that teaches kindergarten through eighth grade. They reportedly average about 390 students per school year.
The school district and police department have not yet commented on the incident. It is also unknown at this time if the man is facing any criminal charges.
