A 37-year-old Florida woman allegedly stole nearly $170,000 from the camper sales company that she worked for and spent $7,000 of it on breast implants.
Steffani Lariscy was arrested in Iredell County, N.C., and charged with grand theft after a yearlong investigation of the financial records of Robbins Camper Sales in Ormond Beach, Fla. The thefts are believed to have taken place over a three-year period.
After discovering that $1,000 was missing after the sale of a camper, Lariscy’s employer filed a complaint against her. Lariscy said that she needed the money to pay for her divorce and that she intended to pay it back. After the owner told Lariscy he was alerting the authorities, she took off, according to UPI.
During the course of their investigation, police were informed by an anonymous source that Lariscy had been bragging about having tons of cash at her home. According to a report from the Volusia County Sheriff's Department, “the tipster also said that Lariscy had bought some new furniture and also had spent $7,000 on breast implants.''
The report also said:
"Last month, the audit team revealed that the total amount of money that they were able to document as being misappropriated from the business totaled $169,822.63.”
