Daycare Worker Arrested For Emailing Nude Pics Of Toddler To Sex Predator

| by Sean Kelly

A daycare worker in Texas was arrested after reportedly producing and distributing child pornography to a sex predator who she was in a relationship with.

According to reports, 38-year-old Corpus Christi, Texas, resident Christina Cortez used her position at a daycare center to produce pornographic images of a young child and send them to 29-year-old Matthew Harbin. Harbin was reportedly on the run for sex offenses at the time and was living under an alias in Brownsville, Texas.

According to reports, one of the photos sent by Cortez included the message: “There’s one that is SO pretty. I would love to watch us with her.” Harbin was allegedly using the email address “[email protected]” during his correspondence with Cortez.

Soon, Harbin began forwarding pictures — many of which portrayed a toddler in sexually explicit positions and being sexually abused — to a correspondent in the UK. The correspondent ultimately turned out to be an undercover police officer.

The photos were determined to have been taken and sent between Harbin and Cortez in July of 2014, when Cortez was still working at the daycare center. After her arrest, Cortez admitted to taking photographs at the daycare and communicating with Harbin through Craigslist. She denied, however, that the pictures were pornographic.

Cortez, who worked in at least two daycare facilities before the incident, was arrested and charged with producing and distributing child pornography. If convicted, she faces 15 to 30 years in prison for production of child pornography, and between five and 20 years for distribution.
