The 16-year-old Maryland boy with autism who was allegedly brutally abused by two female teenage classmates says that despite the horrible things they did to him, he wants to remain friends with them.
The boy, who is only being referred to as Michael, reportedly suffered outrageous abuse at the hands of his so-called friends. One of the girls, a 15-year-old, was possibly Michael’s girlfriend, and the other one, 17-year-old Lauren Bush, was just a friend. According to shocking reports, the two girls made Michael do a number of torturous things while they filmed the acts with a cell phone. One of the things they did was hold a knife to the autistic boy’s throat.
“I thought she was going to cut me,” said Michael. “I was like, ‘Please stop.’”
Some of the other shocking things they allegedly did to Michael on camera included making him walk across a frozen pond while doing nothing as he fell into the water multiple times, and trying to make him perform sex acts. Still, despite the horrific things the two girls reportedly knowingly did to Michael, he doesn’t want them to be punished.
“It really makes me upset that my parents want to see them in jail,” said Michael to the Washington Post. “Because I really like them.”
Michael’s parents are still pursuing legal action, however, and say they are worried that their son is so quick to defend the teens.
“My son is a staunch defender of his tormentors; it’s embarrassing,” said Michael’s father. “He may be more disabled than I convinced myself that he was and maybe more lost than I realized. That’s something I am going to have to deal with on a later day. Right now, I am trying to get justice for him and others like him.”
Lauren Bush, the 17-year-old tormenter, is being charged as an adult and if she’s found guilty, she could face 80 years in prison.
