A Northwest Arkansas man who is facing two charges of first degree murder in the deaths of his infant sons appeared in court Monday.
Travis Fox admitted to police last week that he shook his seven-month-old son William to death after he had been drinking. In 2011, Travis Fox II died in the same way.
"Mr. Fox admitted that he shook his 6-month-old son for 30-45 seconds because he was 'fussing,'" said a prosecutor's report regarding the 2009 incident. "Mr. Fox said he was angered and tired because he was up for two days without sleep."
In addition to the murder charges, Fox faces a charge of probation violation, reports 5 News Online. He was sentenced to five years probation in 2009 after pleading guilty to residential burglary and several other theft-related charges.
Fox’s acquaintances are shocked that someone they know could have committed such a terrible crime.
“Just, poor babies and I don’t understand how he could do it. I know he admitted it but still hard to actually think of him because he wasn’t like that. My kids picked on him and played around with him and he never got mad,” Angela Robinson said.
Fox is currently being held without bond in the Washington County detention center. He will be formally charged at his arraignment on April 17.
