77-Year-Old Wins Jackpot, Then Things Take Unfortunate Turn

A middle-aged man accused of robbing an elderly man of his casino winnings in December 2015 has still not been found, leading police to enlist the public's help in the search for the alleged thief.

A 77-year-old man reportedly hit the jackpot at a Detroit-area casino on Dec. 7, 2015, The Detroit News reports.  While exiting the establishment and walking back to his car at about 9:30 p.m., the patron had an envelope full of the evening's winnings snatched out of his hands, according to a police report.

The suspect was described as a male in his 30s, with a medium complexion and a medium build  He was unarmed, and the elderly victim was not injured during the incident.

Over a month later, Detroit police are still trying to identify the suspect.  Law enforcement has enlisted the public and the media in the search for the man.  

Police have instructed anyone who has information as to the identity or whereabouts of the man to call either local police or Crime Stoppers.

Police have not released the location of the incident or indicated how much money was stolen, WJBK reports.  However, the robbery reportedly occurred close to the MotorCity Casino.
