A 1-year-old boy who was being pushed in a stroller by his mother and father was shot and killed on Sunday night in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.
Antiq Hennis is the second Brooklyn toddler to be fatally shot over an eight-day period. Police are looking into the possibility that the boy’s father, Anthony, was the intended target.
“I heard three to four shots. … I saw a man with a stroller screaming, ‘My baby got shot! My baby got shot,’ ” said witness Gina Gamboa, 23. “He was going crazy.”
“The baby’s chest was moving, but his head was tilted to the side. There was blood all over the stroller.’’
The victim’s uncle, Chris Dovsen, reminisced about his young nephew.
“He was just starting to learn how to walk. He was just getting the hang of it. And now this happened.’’
Bishop Willie Billops of the Church of Faith, Hope and Charity knows the family. He said he is tired of these sorts of incidents.
“I’m outraged at the murder of a 1-year-old baby,” Billops said. “I grew up in this neighborhood and I’ve seen a lot — but this is the worst.
“It was horrible. I’m furious at what happened. I’m sick of what’s happening in this neighborhood.”
Police have not made any arrests at this time, The Blaze reported.
