A deposition given by a private investigator alleges Casey Anthony, who was acquitted of killing her 2-year-old daughter in 2011, paid for her defense with sex.
The allegation comes from Dominic Casey, who was hired by Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, in July 2008, Radar reported.
Anthony was arrested in 2008 and charged with the murder of daughter Caylee after her remains were found close to the Anthony home.
One incident between Anthony and Baez was said by the investigator to have occurred on Sept. 5, 2008.
Baez arranged for Anthony to give a television interview, but she was reluctant to do so. Baez allegedly “called the network saying they would have to take a raincheck, hung up the phone and said to Casey: ‘You now owe me 3 blowjobs.’”
On a separate occasion, Dominic Casey arrived unannounced at Baez’s office and reportedly saw Anthony run naked through a conference room and into the hallway.
“That night, I told her that she cannot allow him to continue engaging in this behavior,” he said in the deposition.
“Casey told me she had to do what Jose said because she had no money for her defense,” he added.
“I reminded her that Baez had more than enough money from the network he sold the photographs to pay for her defense,” he said. “Casey apologized and assured me it would not happen again.”
It has now been almost five years since Anthony was acquitted of murder, although she was convicted on four counts of providing false information to the authorities.
“Well, Casey played it very well,” Jeffrey Ashton, who prosecuted the case, told WESH in an interview to mark the five-year anniversary. “She would sit in the courtroom and cry at all the right times. They would put her seat very low so she would look like a little girl.”
Proceedings began in May 2011, and Anthony was cleared of murder July 5.
“The defense did a very good job of presenting her over the eight weeks the way she needed to be presented,” added Frank George, the second prosecutor. “As a vulnerable, small, scared young lady.”
