About three weeks ago, a commander in the Detroit Police Department was asked to notify officers that their new bulletproof vests were ready for pickup. Commander Dwayne Love forwarded an email with a list of names to various supervisors within the department who then passed it on to the officers. Unfortunately, that email included an Excel spreadsheet containing the weight, height and bra cup sizes of the women who were on the list.
"On the third page, the females were listed. Unfortunately and embarrassingly, the cup sizes of the females were listed on that third page, and it was really just a clerical error," said Assistant Chief James White.
According to White, Love didn’t realize that the email contained such sensitive information until it was too late.
"Conscientious, very hard working command officer. However, it's an embarrassing situation, and I'm going to be addressing the issue formally with him over the next couple weeks," White said. "Once we complete our investigation, there will be corrective action."
Several female officers say that they have been ridiculed and that they intend to file grievances against the department, Fox News reported.
White said that he and Chief Craig plan to meet with the female officers impacted by the mistake to apologize for the incident and make assurances that it won’t happen again.
