One of the stars of the History channel's "Ax Men" has been killed in a car accident.
Gabe Rygaard, owner of Rygaard Logging, was tragically killed in a car accident near his hometown of Port Angeles, Washington. He was 45 years old.
According to Deadline, Rygaard was driving near Port Angeles when his Ford Bronco rear-ended another car before ending up in oncoming traffic. The passengers of the other two vehicles were treated for minor injuries.
Rygaard first appeared on History's "Ax Men" in the second season after he took over his father's company, Rygaard Logging. The company was frequently featured on the show throughout the remainder of its nine seasons.
Rygaard is survived by his wife, Katy, and their three children. According to the Daily Mail, Rygaard was not wearing his seat belt.
He is the third member of the "Ax Men" cast to die in recent years. Jimmy Smith of S&S Aqua Logging died in 2012 after a battle with cancer. Pilot William Colantuono, who appeared in seasons 2 and 3 of the show, died in a helicopter crash in 2013.
