Several tweets about date rape and pedophilia from outspoken atheist Richard Dawkins have sparked controversy on social media in the last few days.
The evolutionary biologist was using comparisons of date rape versus stranger rape and mild pedophilia versus violent pedophilia to try to make logical points about the Israel-Hamas conflict, according to the Blaze.
When talking about Israel, Dawkins tweeted that “it is reasonable to deplore both the original founding of the Jewish State of Israel & aspirations now to destroy it.”
Then he wrote that if “X is bad. Y is worse. If you think that’s an endorsement of X, go away and don’t come back until you’ve learned how to think logically.”
After that, he felt the need to illustrate his argument with several inflammatory tweets.
