On July 20, a woman riding a horse, and holding her daughter in front of her, was denied service in the drive-thru lane at a McDonalds in Whitefield, UK, so she led the horse inside, CCTV reported. The horse pooped on the floor, and the police were called.
McDonalds claims that customers were caused “distress” because of the horse being in the restaurant, but they could not serve her at the drive-through for “health and safety reasons”
"The staff refused to serve the women due to company policy, said the McDonald’s spokesperson. The women then took the horse into the restaurant and it ended up ‘doing its business; on the floor.”
A spokeswoman for McDonald's said: "The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority and for this reason we are unable to serve pedestrians, bicycle riders or customers on horseback through the drive-thru."
Greater Manchester Police’s Whitefield Division stated that officers arrived at the location on Bury New Road in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, after receiving a call last Saturday. The woman was issued a citation for causing alarm & distress to other customers and staff.
A spokesperson for Whitefield police said on their Facebook page: “The sight and smell of this caused obvious distress and upset to customers trying to eat, as well as staff members.
It is unlikely they were more distressed than the pony.
