The life of this pup must be really difficult at times because she is pretty much allergic to being a dog.

Ruby the 3-year-old black Labrador suffers from a number of allergies from meat to milk and dust mites to grass, forcing owner Karen Stanfield, 27, to cook her pet vegetarian meals, Metro reports.

Stanfield, a dog trainer, also has to make sure her house in Edinburgh is very clean to avoid upsetting Ruby’s stomach or sneezing.

Ruby even has to take the drug Piriton to treat the symptoms of hay fever, sneezing and other allergies.

“At first I thought she had an infection – she was always itchy, she had no energy and she struggled to go out for walks,” Stanfield said. “She looked like a neglected dog, as if she was starving, and I couldn’t find the cause. It wasn’t until Ruby’s vet did the sensitest that we realized it was allergies causing all her problems.”

According to the Daily Mirror, Ruby’s allergies emerged last year when she started suffering constant stomach upsets and was always fatigued.

“She ate vegetarian food for a year and I’ve just started reintroducing turkey and pork back into her diet as she’s not allergic to those,” Stanfield said.

Fortunately, Ruby is now back to being a happy healthy dog.
