A Virginia man, Kevin Tyler Bramble, 22, plead guilty to felony animal cruelty charges in Virginia Beach Circuit Court on Wednesday, June 27, for throwing a kitten against a wall and killing it, the Washington Post reports.
According to court documents, Bramble obtained the 4-month-old kitten through Craigslist and brutally killed it three days later.
Bramble was arrested after it was confirmed that the helpless little cat died from blunt force trauma to its head on March 1. On that day, Wayne Gilbert with Virginia Beach Animal Control, states that officers were called to a home in the 1900 block of King Court for a report of a domestic incident. That was when an animal control officer learned Bramble had killed a kitten earlier in the day, Fox43TV reports.
Bramble told authorities that the kitten angered him.
Judge Frederick Lowe sentenced Bramble to five-years in prison, then suspended all but six months. Bramble will also receive credit for the time he’s been in custody since his arrest in March.
