Jim Kistler has been told by Delmont, Pa., officials that having four pet ducks in the borough is a violation an ordinance and he could have to pay $500 a day.
Kistler claims he is not in violation of the zoning ordinance because his Blue Swedish ducks are pets not "poultry" for food (video below).
Kistler does not plan to eat his ducks and they do not lay eggs. He also claims the ducks do not quack very loudly.
“Frankly, how can anyone tell you what kind of pet you can have,” Kistler told CBS Pittsburgh.
A hearing will held later this month to rule on the ducks' fate.
