The Aquarium of the Pacific has taught its penguins a brand new trick: how to play with an iPad.
The two penguins—named Newsom and Jeremy—are too young for mating and so were given an iPad to play with while their older counterparts were trying to impress the ladies at the June Keyes Penguin Exhibit of the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, Calif.
The app, designed for cats, has a mouse that runs around the screen. Zookeepers explained that birds are just as curious as cats and so decided to see how the penguins would react to the game.
As it turns out, the penguins loved their new toy. Newsom became much more adept than Jeremy, though, and currently holds the 1,600 point record.
YouTube has seen an influx of videos showing animals such as cats and lizards playing iPad games.
