A mother, who gave her son up for adoption 32 years ago, said they are now in love and are trying to get married and have a baby together.
Kim West, 51, and Ben Ford, 32, have been dating for two years now, the Daily Mirror reports. The mother and son believe they are "meant to be" after West was forced to give Ford up for adoption just a week after his birth.
In an interview with the New Day, the couple revealed that their sex life is "incredible and mind-blowing" and that they are planning to get married. They insisted that their relationship is not incest, but "Genetic Sexual Attraction," a term used for relatives who feel sexual attraction for one another after meeting as adults.
West and Ford met for the first time after the son sent his mother a letter in 2013. At the time, Ford lived in the U.S., but West lived in the U.K. They began exchanging phone calls and agreed to meet up.
West said it was like they had "known each other for years," and she found herself having "sexy dreams" about her son. She reportedly came across an article on Genetic Sexual Attraction (GSA) on the internet and felt like a weight had been lifted.
The mother and son reunited at a hotel, where they drank champagne and shared their first kiss. Ford told his mother he felt relieved and admitted that he no longer had feelings for his wife, Victoria. That’s when Ford and West became intimate with each other.
Three days later, Ford told his wife he was leaving her for his mother. The mother and son couple then flew to Michigan and received help from another GSA couple on how to start their new life together.
"I know people will say we're disgusting, that we should be able to control our feelings, but when you're hit by a love so consuming you are willing to give up everything for it, you have to fight for it," West told the New Day, according to the Daily Mirror. "It's a once in a lifetime chance and something Ben and I are not willing to walk away from."
The Guardian reports that 50 percent of reunions between family members separated at birth result in obsessive feelings.
