A 13-year-old girl was found dead at her home after posting a heartbreaking message on Facebook, the Daily Record reports.
“I hate feeling like I’m never good enough,” Amanda Moroney posted on Facebook on March 7. Hours later, police found her dead.
“At around 0400 hours on Sunday 8 March the body of a 13 year old girl was discovered in a house in Lennoxtown,” A Scottish Police spokesperson told the Daily Record. “A post mortem will take place to establish the exact cause of death.
“Police are not treating the death as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
Moroney attended St. Ninian’s High School in Dunbartonshire. On Feb. 18, she posted another concerning status on Facebook, saying: “Welcome back suicidal thoughts, long time no see."
Moroney’s sister Louise posted a heartfelt message on her Facebook wall. Louise wrote: “Well sis you were good enough for thousands and if you could just see right now how many people had came together and loves and misses you it to late princess but as long as you are happy.”
Jennifer Millar, a friend of Moroney’s, wrote: “Just sitting thinking, if only this girl knew how much she was loved by all x. It’s a shame we realize to late.”
Paul McLaughlin, the principal at Moroney’s school, described the pupil as a “quiet, likeable girl.” McLaughlin added that she was popular and always surrounded by friends.
