Strangers Congratulate New Parents In Texting Mix-Up

A Florida couple welcoming a new baby received a heartwarming surprise from two complete strangers who were included in a group text message by mistake.

Lindsey and Mark Lashley were at Bainbridge Hospital delivering their new son, Cason Knox, when a friend of the family sent out a group text message announcing the birth, Fox 26 reported.

Local man Deorick Williams, who does not know the couple, received the message by mistake because his phone number used to belong to one of the couple's acquaintances.

Instead of just ignoring the message, however, Williams texted back and got the name of the hospital and room number for the happy couple.

He and his brother Dennis then visited the hospital with gifts for the family and their newborn son.

"What a blessing these two guys were to our family," the friend who sent Williams the text message posted on Facebook, along with a picture of the two men posing with the couple in their hospital room.

"They were so sweet and kind to do this!" the post continued. "You 2 are great guys for giving to someone you didn't know! Many blessing I pray for you."

Williams later posted screenshots of the Facebook post and the group on his own Facebook page.

The March 19 post has received over 41,000 likes and 162,000 shares in two days.

Facebook users writing in the comments section congratulated the couple and praised Williams and his brother for their thoughtful actions.

"This was sooo sweet!" one commenter wrote. "God has something in store for y'all!"
