Rihanna's new Instagram photos have gone viral after some social media users pointed out what they thought was a digital editing error.
The Grammy Award-winning superstar took to Instagram to share photos of her dazzling outfit at Barbados' annual Crop Over Festival, the Daily Mail reported. While thousands of social media gawked at the music icon, others pointed out what appeared to be a digital editing mistake.
"This picture is photoshop," wrote one user. "Look at the extra nail on her thumb."
"There's something strange about your right thumb?" observed another.
Other users thought they had the answer as to what the alleged second nail could actually be.
"READ THIS‼️‼️ There's a blue string on her thumb, it's the same color as the snare on her other hand!‼️" wrote one user. "U crazy ppl."
"It is not an extra nail, it is a cord that has the same color [as the] nails," added another.
While some users investigated the pop star's thumb, others were more concerned when they saw that the singer's ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, commented on the photo. Brown appeared speechless, leaving an eyes emoji in the comments section of the post.
"You are beautiful and incredible and better than any loser ex," wrote one fan.
"Chris want that old thang back," quipped another.
But Rihanna did not pay any mind to "thumbgate" or her ex-boyfriend's comment. She instead focused on a recently published GQ Magazine interview featuring music producer/DJ Diplo.
In the interview, which covered Diplo's recent tour in Africa, the world-renowned producer revealed that Rihanna was the "one artist that we can't ever get."
"I think before we're all done, she'll be on a song of ours. Hopefully. But if not, I don't really care," Diplo told GQ Magazine. "I played her 'Lean On.' She was like, I don't do house music. I face-palmed so hard on that one.
"Another time I had a session with her, and Future was also invited. The Weeknd was there. Metro Boomin was there before anybody knew who he was. I was so contact high.
"Future played her, like, 700 songs. It was four in the morning. Finally, I was like, Yo, G, I'm leaving unless you let me play her a song. So I played her a song. And she was like, This sounds like a reggae song at an airport. [laughs] I was like, I'm gonna go kill myself."
Rihanna posted a screenshot on her Instagram account of a Paper Magazine article, which mentioned the airport reggae comment.
"#DutyFree My bad [Diplo]," Rihanna wrote as the caption.
Diplo has since taken to Twitter to react to Rihanna's Instagram shout out.
"[If] youve been inside the private airport me and rihanna use, youd realize it wasnt actually an insult," Diplo tweeted. "Talking about africa isn't important to these blogs they just wanna cover celeb news."
