Fox News dropped Bill O'Reilly on April 19 after reports of millions in payouts to alleged sexual harassment victims and an exodus of more than 50 advertisers from his highly rated show, "The O'Reilly Factor."
"After a thorough and careful review of the allegations, the company and Bill O’Reilly have agreed that Bill O’Reilly will not be returning to the Fox News Channel," 21st Century Fox, the owner of Fox News, said in a statement.
Fox News and O'Reilly had paid out settlements to five female accusers that totaled about $13 million, reports The New York Times. O'Reilly has repeatedly denied the sexual harassment allegations against him.
Some people in the Fox News newsroom cried over O'Reilly's departure, while others were overjoyed, reports Vanity Fair, which seemed to mirror the reaction Twitter.
Conservative web blogger Matt Drudge tweeted then deleted: "O'Reilly has had tremendous run. Very few in the business get to decide when and how things end. Media is most brutal of all industries..."
Christian radio host Eric Metaxas tweeted: "The news about Bill O'Reilly is tremendously sad. His fairness, boldness & radical commonsense on the show have been a blessing to millions."
Cher tweeted: "3 FAMOUS OLD MEN…ROGER AILELS, BILL O’REILLY,& DONALD TRUMP HAVE SEXUALLY HARASSED WOMEN 4 YRS,TWO GOT FIRED,& ONE WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT!!"
RawStory.com compiled tweets by more commenters who were happy to see O'Reilly out the door:

It is Christmas in April! First we learned Chaffetz will not be running for re-election, and now we learn Bill O'Reilly is fired!
It's so fitting that the career of Bill O'Reilly, that bombastic s***heel, comes to a sputtering end without so much as a "goodbye."
After decades of lies, Bill O'Reilly has officially been fired. You see? Sometimes if you wait, good things CAN happen in this life!
Serial abusers given free reign to terrorize women for decades right up until it became legally untenable while they sermonized on morality.
After learning of Fox News' decision, O'Reilly released a statement, reports Variety:
It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel.
An unidentified Fox News source ominously told Vanity Fair: "There’s more to come."
