An Australian man couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw what many people believe was a ghost during a hike.
He was walking through a well-known suicide spot in a national park in rural Queensland, Australia, which is said to be a popular spot for restless spirits, reports the Daily Mail.
According to the Toowoomba Ghost Chasers’ Facebook group, the hiker, who goes by Brokc David, felt as though somebody was watching him and snapped a picture of what looks like a bearded bald man wearing a red sweater, standing behind a downed tree.
According to Toowoomba Ghost Chasers, which posted the picture, David “felt an awful feeling of dread wash over him … then when going back through his photos he finds this.”
That anxious feeling has stuck with David since the picture.
“Oddly enough I've been experiencing a similar feeling of dread every once in a while over the last week,” he wrote. “I'll be walking down the street and all of a sudden feel like something is about to jump out at me from behind a tree.”
Some commenters are skeptical and the image has lent itself to visceral reactions from a few ghost enthusiasts.
“Picking up a sharp pain in the side of my head so this would be the area that caused someone's death in that photo,” one man said.
“Picking up the worst energy from this photo and it's giving me a headache. So much darkness in that area,” a user commented.
Several have found what they claim to be more ghostly figures.
“Definitely see 1 man with a possibility of 2 more,” one person said. Another stated that there is another figure above the red-clad ghost’s left shoulder.
The group moderator pointed out that if the photo is of a man, that he is wearing very unusual attire for a hiker.
The Toowoomba Ghost Chasers mentioned it intends to try to go back to the area, find the exact spot, and recreate the photograph for comparison, so that the group can see whether the image is an illusion created by a natural feature, or the alternative — a ghost.
