Alec Wells dressed up like serial killer Michael Myers from the "Halloween" horror movies to propose to his girlfriend Katherine Canipe in Pasadena, California,. Video (below) of the proposal from October 25, 2014, was recently posted online.
"Katherine is a complete horror movie fanatic," Wells told the Daily Mail. "She hosts a podcast about horror movies called, 'Boys and Ghouls' and John Carpenter’s 'Halloween' is her favorite movie of all time."
Wells re-enacted a scene from the 1978 slasher film when Myers jumps out in front of Jamie Lee Curtis before popping the question to Canipe while his friends secretly filmed with two cameras.
It’s such an iconic moment in the film, the first time Michael materializes mere feet away from Jamie Lee Curtis’ character. t’s scary and surreal; just the way I wanted to proposal to feel. That sequence was also filmed on the very street where I proposed, so it was kismet.
In return, Canipe posted their engagement photo on Imgur, but it wasn't from "Halloween," but rather the movie poster from "Back To The Future."
Under the pic, Canipe wrote, "My fiance knows how much I love Halloween, so when it came time to propose, he dressed up as Michael Myers and jumped out at me with a ring. Perfect proposal."
"Sooooooo, when it came time to take an engagement photo, I let him decide what we were going to do. GREAT SCOTT, it turned out well!"
