South Dakota Lawmaker Compares Gay Sex to When Friends ‘Take a Dump in Your Bed' (Video)

| by Michael Allen

South Dakota State Rep. Steve Hickey (R) recently compared anal sex to an “one way alley for the garbage truck” in a letter to a local newspaper.

Hickey, who is also a pastor, called for doctors to come out and warn the public about the dangers of anal sex between men. He posted his letter to the Argus-Leader on Facebook, which read in part:

Consider this an open letter to the medical and psychological communities in South Dakota. The subject is homosexuality, which is about to be a front-page topic for the next few years in our state. I’m asking the doctors who practice in our state, is the science really settled on this issue or is it more the case that you feel silenced and intimidated?

Democratic candidate Dr. Kevin Weiland replied with a letter to the Argus-Leader that said:

Steve Hickey wanted medical professionals to speak out. Well, I’m speaking out, and I know many more medical professionals will answer Hickey’s call to speak out — because if they do, they will overwhelmingly agree that Hickey’s words were not only hurtful but entirely wrong. There is nothing wrong with being gay.

Hickey responded to the controversy during an interview with the Argus-Leader yesterday, noted RawStory.com (video below).

“Here’s what I’d like to ask Dr. Weiland, do you tell your patients to wash their hands before they eat?” asked Hickey. “Why? Because you touch a doorknob and you don’t want to get it inside your body.”

“I hesitate to get crude again, but Dr. Weiland, is it okay for, you know, eight of your friends that you’re in love with to take a dump in your bed and then you can sleep in it all year long?” added Hickey.

Later Hickey stated, “People are deluding themselves if they think, you know, God loves you and everything you’re doing. You know, Jesus... he was forgiving and compassionate, and he told people, you don’t be casting stones. And then he told the gal, don’t do it any more.”
