Televangelist Pat Robertson continued his string of bizarre advice today on the "700 Club."
A young viewer told Robertson via email that his/her father threatens their mother with a gun, which makes the child and his/her younger brother nervous. The juvenile then asked Robertson, "What should we do about it and him?”
“Well, again, you don’t want to get your father busted, but you could,” stated Robertson, noted RawStory.com (video below).
"Might be what he needs," added Robertson's co-host.
“You ought to go to your mother and say, ‘Mom, this thing is scaring me, and I ask you please to get my father to have some help,’” added Robertson.
“One day he’s going to pull the trigger,” said Robertson. “It doesn’t take too much if you’ve got a loaded weapon and you’re brandishing it around, ‘I’m going to kill you,' and the next thing you know, the thing goes off. It may be accidentally, but the mother will end up dead."
"You need to do something to intervene, but you’re a kid, what do you do? You know? Your mother ought to take care of that.”
Earlier this year, The Atlantic reported on a study that found American women are 84 percent of all female gun victims in the developed world, in spite of the fact that U.S. ladies are only one third of the female population in the developed world.
Another study, published in the Journal of Trauma, stated: “More than twice as many women are killed with a gun used by their husbands or intimate acquaintances than are murdered by strangers using guns, knives, or any other means.”
