Jason and David Benham made headlines earlier this year after they lost their HGTV reality TV show "Flip It Forward" for some anti-gay comments they had made.
The identical Christian brothers recently appeared at a rally in Charlotte, N.C., where they slammed Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) who is pro-choice (video below).
During the rally outside Sen. Hagan's office, David told the crowd that Sen. Hagan opposes the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which he claimed made her "pro-abortion" and "anti-life."
The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act would ban all abortions after 20 weeks, except in the cases of rape, incest or mother's life in danger. The bill passed the House, but has stalled in the Senate.
“By turning a blind eye to this bill, Sen. Hagan proves that she is not only pro-abortion, she proves that she is anti-life,” said David, noted LifeNews.com.
David then recalled how he watched an unidentified pro-choice advocate say on TV that people who want to prevent this type of women's health care are anti-woman.
“I was sitting there thinking and I looked at my wife and said, ‘Anti-women? Well, the last I checked, I really love women. I love my daughters, I love my wife, and I’m willing to stand up and lay my life down for those women that are in a very difficult situation and think that abortion is their only choice,'” stated David.
According to the Charlotte Observer, Sen. Hagan said in a statement, "A woman’s health care decisions are between her and her doctor, and in the Senate, I have stood up for North Carolina women and worked to ensure they have access to preventive care, including contraception and cancer screenings."
