Christian radio host Bryan Fischer brought up the Anthony Weiner scandal on his American Family Association radio show yesterday.
However, like Fox News, Fischer repeated a false conspiracy theory that Weiner's wife, Huma Abedin, is supposedly a secret agent for the Muslim Brotherhood intent on destroying America (audio below).
This conspiracy theory about Abedin was spread in 2012 by Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn) and other Republicans, but was debunked by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who called the accusations "sinister" and added they "need to stop."
Ed Rollins, Rep. Bachmann's former presidential campaign chief, said she was being extreme and dishonest with the accusations, reported CBS News.
Ignoring the facts, Fischer falsely claimed that Abedin's "stated goal" is to "destroy Western Civilization," notes RightWingWatch.org.
"She's right next to Hillary Clinton. Her most trusted aid for years and years and years. Her goal in life as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood is to destroy Western Civilization. She's the one that wants to be the next mayor's wife in the city of New York. Huma Abedin, she wants to destroy Western Civilization. That is her stated purpose, that is her stated goal," said Fischer.
Abedin has never made any such statements and it seems painfully obvious many conservatives are trying to sabotage Clinton's possibly 2016 presidential run early by slandering her close aide and friend, Abedin.
