Randy Moss is headed to Tennessee. The Titans were 22nd in the waiver order, but were awarded the enigmatic wide receiver after nobody else put in a claim. Assuming this isn’t just a repeat of the disastrous situation in Minnesota Moss could really help the Titans on the field.
Without Moss the Colts, as usual, were the heavy favorites in the AFC South:
|AFC SOUTH - Before Moss||WIN||LOSS||%||DIV%||PLAYOFF%|
Moss’ presence does change the landscape somewhat improving Tennessee’s chances at the division by over eight percent. While this move alone isn’t enough to match the Colts, it does improve the Titans compared to the Texans and Jags which boosts. This boosts the Titans’ chance at the playoffs by over seven percent.
|AFC SOUTH - After Moss||WIN||LOSS||%||DIV%||PLAYOFF%|
Tennessee still has two games remaining against Indianapolis, two against Houston, and one against Jacksonville. Getting Moss at this point in the season maximizes his value to the team particularly with Kenny Britt being injured and potentially out for an extended period. Moss looks to be worth about 0.4 wins over the rest of the season.
