Prince William & Kate Middleton have attended their first official event since they got engaged
Prince William and Kate Middleton have stepped out. Over the weekend they attended a charity event for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which was held in Norfolk, UK. This was the first official event for the couple since announcing their engagement.
William attended as guest of honour. Middleton appeared confident as she walked by his side. Her role of the evening was to wave and smile, which she did with much aplomb, reports People.com.
She looked stunning in a black & white dress, with matching fitted black jacket and black accessories, and of course, wearing her engagement ring.
The Royal family appear to be ensuring that Middleton doesn’t endure the same treatment that Princes Diana did. A palace insider told US Weekly in an exclusive interview that Middleton “was given royal assistance like no other girl has ever been given before entering the family.”
Katie Nicholl, who wrote William and Harry: Behind the Palace Walls, told US Weekly: “About three years ago, palace staff started showing Kate video of Diana. Video of her getting out of a car and paparazzi going berserk, so that Kate would know how to deal with it. Now she already knows how this works.”
The future princess will also receive tutorials on royal correspondence, public speaking, and “how to behave at banquets.”
How to behave at banquets should prove to be a good class. Sip the wine, no burping, no fingers when eating fried chicken drumsticks. Finger bowls are for washing ones fingers dear, not a mini drink. Dummies for banquets anyone?
