Porn Company iP4Play Thrilled with New iPad 2

Apple is notorious for not allowing the sale of porn apps in its iTunes store, and it does not look kindly on pornography in general on its devices. Despite Apple's views, the new iPad 2 is expected to boost the prospects of at least one adult company.

Called iP4Play, the company sells X-rated phone calls with its crew of lovely women for $4 per minute. It is already available on the iPhone and iTouch using Apple's video chat application called FaceTime.

But those screens are small. The iPad has a much larger screen, and now that the new one has a front-facing camera, iP4Play is hoping people use it for a "better experience" with its service.

"We believe Apple is happy to have us out here helping to promote FaceTime," Travis Falstad, the company's co-founder and Managing Director told the New York Daily News. "Our customers have the ultimate satisfying experience so we're helping to convert tens of thousands of new FaceTime users."

Falstad claims his company is the only adult video chat operation using FaceTime. He said iP4Play has tens of thousands of users, and it's growing by 30% every month.

"Our typical user is male, 25-40, and on the more technical side. In the early days it was a lot of guys who worked at large tech companies trying out the service," he said. "With our international growth, we are starting to get a lot of customers from the UK, New Zealand, Australia -- even Saudi Arabia."

Even if Apple wanted to shut down iP4Play (and there's no evidence that it is trying to do so), it likely could not because it is not an app -- it is a Web site.
